Dealing with the Coronavirus Epidemic Emergency is an extraordinary time for all of us which has caused DOCS to employ telemedicine, a Web-based service, endorsed by the American Academy of Dermatology. Telemedicine makes it possible for our medical staff to provide consulting services to our patients during this emergency when the emphasis must be on limiting face to face contact to stop the spread of the virus.
Patients wanting to consult with a medical staff member utilizing telemedicine will have to first call the office to schedule an appointment. At that time the patient will be asked to verify their identity with their date of birth. We also require verbal consent to evaluation and management of your medical condition through telemedicine. The scheduled visit will be facilitated by our medical teleconferencing service that is HIPPA compliant. For your privacy, we suggest that you are in a quiet private location. Please let us know if you are NOT physically located in the State of Florida at the time of the telemedicine visit. We will bill your insurance for this telemedicine visit following insurance guidelines, but you will be responsible for any copays, coinsurances, or deductible charges as determined by their specific insurance plan.
Please do not do a Pre-call Test unless you are concerned about your WiFi strength or audio quality. This will take you to another screen that you will have to minimize or close to proceed with the call.
